Baby Shower #2

Yesterday my girlfriends threw me a baby shower in College Station. I had TONS of FUN! I got to see all my old co-workers and a few friends I hadnt talked too in FOREVER!! Well here are some photos from the shower!! Yay!!
I didnt even get into the door before Nan started to wrap me in toilet paper. Before I got there they started a game. The girls had to guess how man squares of toilet paper I was around. Some of them were giddy and guessed like 19!! But I only turned out to be only 11 :( Sorry Patty.. This is my fabulous host Taylor!! She was explaining the next game and getting everything organized!! Good job Tay Tay..This is Bethany, me and Heather playing "Guess what baby object is in the brown bag" game. Haha.. dont know what the actual name of the game was but it was fun!! Guess who got a 100?!! ME!! Bethany would have gotten a 100 too but they would accept butt cream for diaper rash cream!! Seriously? I would have given it to her!!
Well after all the games were played, I got to cut my cake. It was soo cute because it matched the "Little Prince" napkins they had. While everyone ate cake I opened gifts. Here Bethany is trying to explain the original purpose of the box I was trying to open. Except Ladd forgot to tell me about the cards that came in it so I had no idea what she was talking about!! Haha sorry Bethany!!
Well my friend Sara wrapped some of her many presents in this fun paper and Jennifer had to take a picture of it. The paper was polka-dots with glitter. It was so cute I didnt wanna tear into it!

This was the group picture before Webb had to leave for work and Deann had to drive back to Wichita Falls. Man I have some great friends!!And this is just me being goofy. Jen said to show off my belly!! So I stuck it out!! haha :) Ok the next few pictures was the next part of my sunday. After the shower I came home and took out all the stuff I got so Ladd could see. Well after playing with everything and assembling a few things, Bethany and her brother Bradley came over to visit with Ladd. Well James and Bethany left a Target gift card that was very nice of them which they didnt have to do because she already gave me gifts at the shower. Anyways after she left we pulled all our gift cards together and bought this very nice changing table/dresser for Jellybean. Thanks to all that gave us a giftcard to Target and a special thanks to James and Bethany!!

All the clothes and stuff on top is all the clothing, burp rags, bibs, blankets, onsies, and a few socks and mittens we got at the shower. They still need to be washed so I havent put them up yet. Oooh and I got the diaper warmer I wanted! Its so fun!! :) Other items we got were tons I mean TONS of diapers (bc everyone had to bring a pack to get into the shower) bottles, toys, lots of kitchen stuff like bowls, plates, and spoons. We got a diaper bag, some window shades and some very cute decorations! Now we just need to get some shelfs up and start decorating everything!! yay!!

Our Saturday..

Today Ladd and I slept in till 10. Which was nice :) We were suppose to go to James and Bethany's cabin early that morning but we didn't get out there till like 11:30. Well, I didn't expect to do much because we were due back in College Station by NO LATER than 2:30. Well Ladd wanted to follow James and his jeep down to the creek. At first Ladd was like "Naw, better not." With in minutes I was watching Ladd's truck come down the embankment. :( It was scary. From then for a few seconds was fuzzy. Some how he had gotten his truck turned around in this little creek bed and then he started trying to climb out of it. Easier said than done.

Let me just say in the beginning I was like, "Ladd this isn't a good idea. You re going to lose a bumper or dent something." And in the end he came out with a dented rear bumper bc Ladd wasn't watching what he was doing and slid back off the hill into the other embankment, pushing the side of him bumper up into his truck. After James' jeep couldn't pull him out bc something to do with his 4 wheel drive not working, they hooked up a come along and slowly pulled it out of the rutts Ladd put himself in.
Finally, James went back up to the Cabin and got his truck, which FINALLY pulled Ladd out of his mess.. Need I to mention the time is 1:50ish and its a little over a 45 min drive back. Well a dented bumper later Ladd was free.
Then we raced back to College Station to shower and get ready for the Astros Game. Ladd's dad beat us to our apartment, but we were on the road before 3. When we got to the ballpark, it was standing room only. So we decided to scalp some tickets outside the stadium. We sat on the 4th deck but to me they were pretty good seats because we got to see the whole field. I had tons of fun considering it was my first Astros game!! But after our long day, I was super exhausted!!

Ok funny story here :) So being this was my first time to an Astros game, the train that came out at the beginning of the game, I had a der-da-der moment and asked "Why pumpkins?" haha!! Well yeah.. They look like pumpkins!! Little did I know huge oranges, pumpkins.. SAME DIFFERENCE!! haha yeah :)

First Baby Shower

Ok today Ladd's work surprised him with a baby shower. They made the CUTEST little basket full of goodies. And when you dig deeper past the top diapers, you get MORE diapers!! Its so fun!! And then not only were they super nice with this but they made the CUTEST diaper cake!! I love it!! I dont want to take it apart but I also dont know where to put it!!

Ladd said there is other gifts and I havent got the details on the baby shower bc as soon as he got home from work he laid down and fell asleep. Just brought in these two things. :) So Im waiting for him to wake up and I will update further!!

4th of July..

No tummy pictures yet sorry guys, but soon because Ladd gets back from Houston on Thursday! Over the weekend we went back home to my parents house for the 4th. Thursday we left College Station and headed to Brownwood. When we got to my parents house we went out to eat and then sat outside and relaxed the rest of the night, the wind off the lake made it a very nice evening.

Friday morning we woke up and went to Randy's house to pick up clubs for Ladd. Randy is my dad's boss/our family friend and he is left handed and the only person we knew that had extra left handed clubs. Then we headed to my mom's work to help clean rooms (she is a camp cooridinator for a Baptist Camp) because she had a new camp coming in and she was swamped. So we helped out to so she could get off sooner. When we got home a lot of my extended family was there and we soon hit the lake. It was so nice to finally get on the jet ski, even though I wasnt able to do all the crazy fun stuff I used too, like tubing and wake boarding :( But being able to swim and relax was AMAZING!! The rest of the day was just relaxing and full of good food. When it got dark we sat on the balcony and watched all the fireworks. Our house is on/in a hill and it has a panaramic view of the lake and it was so fun being able to see other people waste their money on 10 min of fun!! haha :)

Saturday morning was early for Ladd. He had to get up at 6 to go golfing with my family. He looked so cute with his golfing attire on :) From what I heard Ladd did very well for his first time. While he was gone I just hung out with my grandma, aunt, cousin and mom. We went to town and showed them all where the wedding is going to be and made a quick trip to Wal-Mart. It was so funny because my aunt and I were talking about Ladd and his MANY hobbies and I made the comment that golf is the only thing besides paintball that he seems to not have equipment for. I also said "I bet you 10 bucks he is going to come backing asking if he can buy a set of clubs." And as soon as I could find him after everyone got back the first few words out of his mouth was "Can I get some golf clubs. I had so much fun!" I just giggled. :) After everyones nap we went and played on the lake some more and I got a little gutsy on the jet ski, threw Ladd and I off TWICE and flipped it once!! haha I had so much fun.. A little side note, DaKota (my dog) was down on the dock with us because she wouldnt leave my side, and when I jumped in she would throw a fit and she would jump in too. Well I was so worried she would get tired of swimming and not be able to get out when she wanted. So Ladd had a bright idea to put a life jacket on her. Well I do have to say it was the funniest thing I had ever experienced with DaKota. She couldnt swim good with it on and she finally gave up and she went belly up!! it was so cute!! Then that night we went back to my mom's work to watch the "Big" fireworks. It was VERY relaxing because we had fixed up a little seating area in the back of Ladd's truck. Way more comfortable than chairs.

Sunday morning my mom cooked a big breakfast for everyone. I was one of the last ones in line so I didnt get much but what I had was good!! Then everyone kind of started to pack up and got ready to leave. Soon everyone was in the pool chit chatting and talking about when the next big event was. We all came to the conclusion it will be my baby shower and they are all going Golfing again while I have my shower!! Yay!! Im so excited!! Ladd and I left around 2ish because we still had to go back through Taylor to drop off the tent and Ladd had to go to work the next morning at 5.

Overall the weekend was very fun!! Sooo relaxing. Now we or I am back in College Station and Ladd is off in Houston working :( He will back Thursday afternoon so hopefully we will get pictures up soon. Then this weekend I might be in Houston because our friend Ragan is suppose to be having her baby so I wanna go and take notes :) Cant wait!!

A Weekend in Taylor

Well sorry I havent updated AGAIN in so long. I have been studying super hard this past week for my finals today. Which I feel like ripped me a new butt hole!! :( Ok for starters, last night I don't know why but I DIDN'T sleep at all. I went to bed probably around 12:30 so I could get up around 4 to study more. Well I laid down, buuuut I don't think I ever fell asleep. I was so worried about my finals and the for some reason I just kept thinking I didn't study enough. AND on top of that my back was killing me!! So I "woke" up around the time Ladd left for work at like 3:30 am. I tried studying here but decided to go to IHop and eat and study till my test. By the time my Statistics final came around my brain was dead and I don't even remember taking that final! The only thing I do remember was every work out problem the answer was there. So I must of been doing something right :)

Alright this past weekend we decided to go to Taylor to Ladd's parent's house to do stuff for the baby. While Ladd stayed in Taylor, his mom and I went to Austin to go shopping for fabric for the baby's room. His mom is going to make the bedding and whatnot for the crib and its going to look amazing because we picked out some great colors and patterns!! :) I'm super excited about it all!!

While we were in Austin, Ladd and his Dad stayed back and cut out letters for the baby's name. Well Ladd got a little crafty and went over board and made a great wall hanging. It took him longer than expected and we didn't leave until late Sunday instead of Saturday night. Which is ok because everything looks great!!

Ladd and his dad cutting out the letters at Eric's wood/cabinet shop.

I volunteered to help paint the letters but the brush I was using wasnt doing it for Ladd so I was soon kicked off of painting. His brush made it look more rustic I think..??

The finished product. We have no idea where we are going to hang it but it looks really awesome!!

On the other hand, Ladd's mom went overboard AGAIN and went baby crazy! She went to a garage sale of her really good friend's and bought TONS of clothes that all look brand new!! Apparently everything was only worn like once or twice. Some haven't even been worn at all!! So we have at least 40+ outfits now and I'm so excited. I cant wait to get back from dinner and hang them all. Mrs. Moehnke even went crazy when we went to Babies-R-Us and bought a great swing! Everything is slowing coming together piece by piece and its getting so close!! 3 MONTHS and counting..

Ok and another thing that has happened and I haven't wrote about it yet. We bought a CRIB!! Yay!! Well when we first took it out of the box the back sleigh part was scratched and dented and it looked like poo!! Seriously, but Ladd was like we can make it work and I was like no we paid for this and I want it to look new not used and banged up. So we went back to Target for something and I wanted to see if we could do any thing about it and the customer service lady had that I don't care attitude and totally pulled a crib off the shelf and took the pieces we wanted out of it and said we could just take them and not worry about bringing back the other ones. So we have extra parts just in case something happens.. Yay!! Now all we need is the bedding but we have to wait because Ladd's mom is making it all!! Yay!

Ladd is putting together the crib. For some reason there was only one yellow bar for the bottom and we had no idea what the significance was, so we put it in the middle just in case it was "stronger" or something..??

The baby crib.

Be cool STAY IN SCHOOL!!

Ok everyone that attends college knows that graduations is sooo exciting!! Well all I can think about is having Jellybean in October, then being able to graduate in December!! Ok so nobody really thinks about the downside of graduation. SCHOOL LOANS!! Oh yeah they lurk with all of us or at least with me. Well a lot of my lenders think I have already graduated bc my expected graduation date was suppose to be in May. Well if you have attended Texas A&M NOBODY graduates on time!! NOBODY!!! Well I got my first repayment book in the mail for 2 loans that where consolidated. HAHA!! Made me cry, literally. Don't know if its the hormones from being pregnant or what but the amount in the top right corner under the words Amount Due scared the living day lights out of me. If just 2 of my loans (which have been consolidated into one) will cost this much each month, I really don't want to know how much all my other loans consolidated will be a month. Oh man this really overwhelmed me I freaked out!! The only thing I could think of was the phrase: STAY IN SCHOOL!! haha!! I wasn't going to go to Nursing school right after I graduated. I wanted to stay home and take care of Jellybean for at least a semester or two, then Apply for Nursing school in spring 09 making me attend classes hopefully by Fall. I just don't know if I will be able to handle a growing family plus extra school loans and me not really having a job. So I am seriously considering going to Nursing school immediately after graduation, so we can get on our feet (with Ladd's job) before we have to start on my school debt nightmares!! I mean as soon as I finish Nursing school, I don't think I will be overwhelmed and we (Ladd, me and Jellybean) will be able to handle everything way better considering we will be well on our way to nesting and finding a permanent home/town. :)

Dr. Appt @ 24 weeks

Ok so my day started off good!! Yay.. 8am I found out my grade to that super hard test, 73, which is A~M~A~Z~I~N~G!!! Concidering the average was I think 79 ish?? So relieved because I just knew it was going to be super bad.

Alright Jellybean news. Well I have yet to treat my self to that yummy drink you have to drink for diabetes testing. That comes next time and Im not looking forward to it. And all I can say about weight gain, Im healthy :) Everything else looks amazing too!! Jellybean's heart is beating very well and my blood pressure is good. Jellybean weighs approximately 1 pound and 6 ounces. Dr. Smith said that by this he is a week off due date, the computer calculated with all the measurements and weight that the due date will be Oct. 1st!! Which is fine with me thats just 2 weeks sooner I get to see my baby!! Yay!! Just everything went real well today and I am a happy camper!! :) :):):) Here are some ultrasound pics. Im not putting up new belly pics till the beginning of the month. So here are Jellybean's snap shots at 24 weeks (but in reality 25!!!)
Ok so the top left 2 are just pictures of his face and right hand. The top right 2 are pictures of his long spinal cord (top) and his leg and foot (bottom). Then the center 2 you really cant tell but the top one contains the sex. Kinda have to bare with me while I explain it. He is sitting Indian style kind of with his legs out to the left. You can see his two butt cheeks on the right side of the screen. Well there is a small protruding thing in between the two butt cheeks. :) Yeup hes a boy alright!! The ultrasound tech said that he will be a proud man :) :) Haha. And the bottom picture is just a really cool one because you can see his hand and every bone in it!! Kinda looks like a foot on the right side.

Over the first Hurdle..

Ok so I have NEVER studied so hard in my life. LITERALLY spent 2 days in the library. While everyone else was out doing summer things i.e. the lake or swimming pool or just being lazy, I was at WCL Friday night, ALL DAY Saturday AND Sunday!! I'm not going to complain too much because I did know majority of the test. Its just I was so scared of this test, which was in my Human Diseases class, one of the hardest classes of my major (the other one being Drugs taught by the same prof). Anyways I feel pretty confident about it but I know whats probably going to happen!! I feel amazing about what I had accomplished and then when I get my test back its going to have a big fat D on it!! Hate those moments, but I'm going to keep my spirits up bc I really think I did well.

Anyways, as soon as I got home from my test I laid down with relief and slept till 130 and then I went to Yoga at 2 :) And after that I came back home and fell back to sleep. Haha.. Yeah if it wasn't for the pool of drool I was laying in I probably would be still asleep. :) But over all I say it was a good nap :) Now I'm probably not going to be able to go back to sleep. Oh well at least I'm caught up on sleep.

Ok some Ladd news. Well he worked his last week of nights last week, Wednesday being his last morning. We kinda didn't see each other very much over the past few days bc like I said I lived at the library. Well while I was at WCL, Ladd went riding with my little brother a few times. Never thought I would see the day when Ladd would come back from riding HURTING!! Apparently, I didn't get the whole story, Ladd wiped out pretty good. Sad to say my little brother did too and has a huge strawberry on his back/shoulder from it. Anyways, Ladd had to leave Sunday morning early to catch a flight in Houston to go to Odessa for a week in Logging school. :( I miss him dearly considering I didn't get the normal week off with him. Usually I can handle it but having barely 1 full day bw weeks wasn't enough. But he comes back Saturday afternoon and I cant wait to see him!! Oh did I forget to mention the fact he will be missing tomorrows ultrasound. Yeah I'm 24 weeks and this was suppose to be the big one if we didn't already peek. He is going to miss it and I'm super bummed about it. I don't like going alone so I asked my close friend Jennifer to come with me and she is super excited!! Hopefully I can bring the video from the last ultrasound and they can tape it so Ladd can watch when he gets back.

Anyways, Ill have more Jellybean news tomorrow after the Doctors appointment. :) And lets keep our fingers crossed that the 17week ultrasound was right and Jellybean is still a boy!!

Relaxing Weekend

So this past weekend we were suppose to go to Rockport. Well after actually looking how far it was and how EXPENSIVE gas is, we decided not to go. :( Instead we had a pretty laid back weekend in Houston with our friends Brad and Ragan, ALWAYS a nice hotel with great amenities!! :)

Well, Friday night Ladd and I cooked. Actually I cooked and Ladd just 'mashed' potatoes. He is always a good help when it come to the not so joyous things, i.e. peeling a SACK of potatoes. Well we bought a pork tenderloin and it said to only cook it for about 40 minutes. Well Ive never cooked one before so after 40 min only the outside was cooked completely raw in the middle. So dinner didn't happen till around 10 because we had to cook it for an extra hour. :(

Saturday morning I slept in while Ladd and my little brother, Ryan, went to Lake Bryan to ride bikes. When they got back Ladd and I headed to Houston. Later that day we went to Katy Mills Mall to go to Bass Pro Shop. It was fun because we all got a chance to look at baby clothes together at different baby stores. :) The funniest thing is when you hear Brad say in the cutest, highest pitch voice, "Awe, Isn't this just the cutest!!" Then we went swimming at Ragan's parents house. Do have to say, it felt AMAZING!

Sunday was kinda super lazy day. Again I slept in. When I got up and when the Jamesons got home from church, we all went out to eat at Willie's Ice House. Later we watched some good Aggie Softball :) WHOOP! After every ones nap, we took the dog to the "Canine Recreational Center." (Park- bc Rudder goes nuts even if you spell out Park) It was super hot but DaKota and Rudder had tons of fun swimming and playing fetch. Then when the dogs out lasted/ran Brad, we all headed back to cook dinner and watch the rematch game of the Florida Gators vs. Texas A&M Aggies. We won :) "We goin' to the SHIP, We goin' to the SHIP!!" Late that night after the game Ladd and I drove home and I passed out after a good Palmer's "Stretch Mark" Lotion rub down. :) Thanks to my wonderful Fiance!! :) Love him!!

Jellybean Baby Bump Update
Not much change. :(

First Week of Summer School..

Ok so waking up at 7 am every morning isn't the toughest part of my school week. Actually that's the easy part. The hard part is getting from Kyle field to the Chemical Engineering building in 20 minutes. I would say it would be a piece of crumb cake for a normal person but 5 months pregnant and close to 100 degree weather!! Yeah right! The first day of school, my 8 am prof just kept talking and was 5 min late in letting us out. So I was like GREAT! So my friend, Jordyn and I realized we had the same class. So we basically hauled butt to get there on time. I'm talking speeeeed walking!! We got there just at 10 am (which is when class started). Well that prof I guess started early because she was already half way through the syllabus. I was like WTF!! So as soon as class was out I called my doctor and asked him if it was ok to ride a bicycle across campus. He said it would be fine just keep hydrated. So that night after yoga class, I loaded up my bicycle (Ladd was at work and I had help from my friend Hunter) and took it up to campus. Wednesday was much easier riding my bike even though I was super sore from speed walking the day before. So in conclusion by Wednesday night I was super exhausted! Like I have NEVER felt this exhausted before in my life!! Believe it or not I actually went to bed before midnight!!
So one thing I am super excited about summer school is that I'm taking a yoga class! Well 2 days of the week we do lecture and 2 days we do yoga. Today we did our first yoga positions. Some of them felt great and there is just this one that killed me!! Its that table top position. I tried my hardest to maintain the position but after a few seconds all I could think about was Jellybean and my aching stomach. I had told my instructor that i was pregnant the first day of class and she said if there was any modifications to any position that would benefit/affect me, she would tell me. So since she hadn't told me that this is one i couldn't do, i did my own modification :) Anyways all in all it was a very relaxing time and i enjoyed it!!
OOOh another thing i found out about summer school. I thought i was going to get at least a week break bw summer sessions.. Um no. Its like I take finals for summer 1 session on a Monday, and summer 2 starts the next day, Tuesday!! So basically I will be going to school from 8 am to noon all summer :(
A little bit of Jellybean news, he is moving around A LOT more. It seems like everytime i lay down at night he wants to wake up. He just seriously throws a fit! The week that Ladd was at work I would tell him about it and he was just in shock when he actually got to feel it. Its like he makes my whole stomach move. Then every now and then if you watch it close you can actually see a small bump or one time I actually saw the elbow or knee move across my tummy! Its great! I cant wait to see him on the ultrasound next Doctors apt. on the 17th.

Dr. Apt @ 20 weeks

Well Jellybean is doing great. Going into the Doctors office I was very afraid of my iron count being low along with other things considering I have been taking Flintstone vitamins instead of prenatal. But the Doctor said everything looks good and the heartbeat is GREAT! He said at 20 weeks the top of the uterus should be right at my belly button. We also told him we peeked a little early and he just smiled. Which is a relief because I thought he would be a little upset or whatnot because he wanted to wait till 24 weeks.
Anyways, Ladd and I have been just been real busy all weekend. Lets see, Sunday we drove down to Houston and went to Herman Park downtown and took some beautiful engagement pictures. James Massey has a very nice, professional like camera that can take like a ka-ba-gillion pictures at a time. So in our pool of pictures you can see a progression of one shot and its SOO cool. None the less we got some 40 amazing pictures out of like maybe 200+. Now we just need to print them out and send them out to everyone. By the way James had an amazing assistant, his wife Bethany helped out with positioning us and making sure everything in the picture looked great.
Sunday was a nice, relaxing day. Walked through the park and watched a "free spirit" dance and go loony in the middle of the park's main lounge area. Quite entertaining for our water break.
On Monday we slept in kind of late. Before we went to bed I asked Ladd if we should set an alarm. All he said was, "We should be ok, the sun will come through and wake us up." Well we didn't wake up till noon. Haha.. but we were off and registering soon enough. We went to Babies-R-Us first, who knew registering for things is so much fun. Ladd got to run the gun first and I got to handle the listand it went fairly fast. Then we headed off to Target to register for the small things. In Target I got to run the gun and you know me, I'm trigger happy and register for stuff like diapers and wipes and one-sies and tons of fun stuff while Ladd was wondering off looking at other things and talking on the phone. :) All and in all, we had tons of fun and I cant wait to see what we get.

Holy Moly.. Its been a while!!

Sorry guys for not keeping this up to date but Ladd and I have been SOOO busy!! But we sat down together and have made a list of things we want to update yall on. So far the pregnancy is going great. After I hit the 2nd trimester mark I have been feeling so much better. I have been eating things like they have been going out of style (in moderation). Like for the first 2 weeks I craved nothing but Taco Bell and then after that it was Raising Cane's.

Well since our Doctor doesn't want to do the next ultrasound till 24 weeks, and if you know me I'm not the most patient person in the world, we got access to an ultrasound technician at 17 weeks. It was really cool because we where in there for over 30 minutes looking at the little one, we even got a video tape of it all.

After about 7 minutes we saw plain and clear that Jellybean is a BOY!! Later that week Ladd felt him kick and move for the first time, his eyes lit up like a little kid in a candy store. Between going camping, weddings, and clothes shopping, Jellybean has been super active, and yes my baby bump is starting to make an appearance. I can finally wear maternity shirts and actually look pregnant and not just fat. Clothes shopping has been a hoot. I love the maternity, stretchy pants!! They are amazing and comfy!! Kinda sad I hadn't discovered these before I got pregnant!!

On wrapping this up and not making it too long, Ladd and I are going to go to Houston on Sunday and take engagement pictures, thanks to James and Bethany and on Monday we are registering at Babies-R-Us and Target. Feel free to pull together and buy large items (hint hint) rocking chair (Babies-R-Us).

This one is for you Brad and Ragan!!
