In a Nutshell....

So its been a while!! Like over a YEAR!! WOW!! Well a few things happened since then. Our family grew to 4!! Braelyn Christine Moehnke was born on June 28, 2011 at 8:39 pm. Ill get into detail later!! Other things that have happened:

September: Greyson turned 2, I got a GREAT job working with students, when we decided to TRY to have another babino!!

October: Not much happened here other than we found out we were PREGNANT with BABY #2!!

November: At Thanksgiving when our families huddled in a circle to give thanks about one thing we said, "We give thanks for the new addition arriving in July!!"

December: Greyson had surgery on an Inguinal (sp) hernia. Christmas was bitter sweet. My dearly Loved Grandfather passed away a week before Christmas.

January: Not much here other than getting a speeding ticket on my first day back to work.

February: We had an ultrasound the day before my birthday. We had the Tech write down the sex and then we went out to dinner to celebrate my birthday, SEX of the baby, and valentines. We found out we were having A GIRL!!

March: My job turned into a "Long Term" substitute position. Basically I replaced a teacher who retired so I finished out the year. 135 hormonal 8th graders made me very stressed and high strung!!

April: 135 hormonal 8th grade students.... need I say more...

May: My heart started to act funny so they put me on a monitor for 24 hours. Of course the entire time I was "hooked up" my heart acted normal. As soon as I took those itchy suckers off.. Guess what.. My heart flutters!!

June: Last day of school. At 36 weeks we made an appointment for a scheduled c-section on July 1st for Lil' Miss Nugget bc she was already measuring FULL TERM!! BIG BABY!!

June 19: Braxton Hicks contractions start. EVERY 5-10 mins and this goes on for 2 weeks!!

For our next 2 Doctors appointments we were 'barely' dilated to a 2. No change after being miserable with contractions!!

June 27: While having regular contractions, we have a doctors appointment. We are hooked up to the monitor and we sit for over an hour monitoring my contractions. I try sweet talking the Doctor to inducing me for a VBAC (Vaginal birth after Cesarean). She said no because of all the risks involved. The only way she would allow a VBAC is if I went into labor myself. She took one look at me and saw I was so miserable so she bumped up my scheduled C-Section to the next morning at 730 am!! **Later that day the doctor called to reschedule at noon because of conflicting appointments**

June 28: 10:30 am- we arrive at the Hospital to be checked in for a C-section. I am escorted to my room to be prepped for surgery. After filling out all the paper work required for surgery, the nurse leaves to go get my fluids and medicine for the c-section. While she was gone (10:50) I started to have an intense contraction and Lil' Miss Nugget was NOT happy and started to move a lot!! Next thing I know I have a puddle btw my legs and I am looking at Ladd like like WTF just happened!!?? My exact words where "Um.. I think my water just broke." Ladd: "No way. You're kidding right? Lemme see.." and sure enough his face said it all!!

11:30 am: I had convinced the doctor for a VBAC and I had internal monitors in me and an epidural just in case there was an emergency. After 45 minutes of sitting in a puddle I was glad I couldn't feel anything any more!

Every time I was checked I had only progressed slightly. I was really hoping this wasn't another Greyson where we were stuck at a 4 and was sent to the OR. Around 5:15 ish the doctor came in to check me and I was still at a 4!! She said: " I have 2 c-sections. You have till the end of the 2nd one to progress or you're next in line." So about 3 hours to get somewhere right?

A little after 7 I felt like my epidural was wearing off and I was freaking out because I didn't want to do this feeling EVERYTHING!! So the nurse came in and asked.. Do you feel pressure? as she was pushing my "Happy" button for more drugs!! I said yes because my epidural was wearing off. She smiled and left the room. A few minutes later the doctor shows up and asked to check me. As she was doing so I looked her in the face and said: " You better not say barely a 4!! " She gave me this smirk and said "Your complete" I guess I didn't believe her because I had to ask what does that mean. "your complete. Your a 10!!"

At that moment I cried!! I did it!! I went from a 4 to a 10 in an hour and half!!

I pushed for an hour and at 8:39 my dream of holding a "fresh" baby on my chest came true.. it was remarkable and words could and can not explain that moment!!

Once we were able to think, Braelyn is a true blessing. She was stubborn and wanted to make her own debut on her own terms.!! If we hadn't rescheduled and then rescheduled again, we would had had a c-section. It was truly answered prayers!! It was a miracle!! If we didn't reschedule for noon or even scheduled for that day at all, my water would have broke at home or we would of had a c-section at 730 am..!! Thank you lord for conflicting appointments!! Truly a Miracle!!

Though Braelyn is a sweet bundle of joy.. July and August were the HARDEST months of my life. Adjusting to 2 kids was fine but have an infant with colic and a rambunctious 2 yr old was so hard. I would be up all night with Braelyn then about the time the "gas" would subside, Greyson would be tapping on me.. "Mommy, I'm ready for breakfast" There were moments where I sat and cried because I couldn't do anything else, but cry with Braelyn.

When a rash appeared on her neck we took her to the Doctor. She suggested no breast milk and try soy. We did, nothing happened. So on Sept 3 I mixed half breast milk and half soy because I had SOOOO much breast milk stored.. A few hours later we were in the ER because her body was covered in a raised rash.

Come to find out our baby girl has an allergy to a milk protein which caused her to develop eczema. So now she is put a special nutrium formula because even soy had this particular protein she could be possibly allergic too. Lets just say she is a much happier baby and less gassy and sleeps!! yay!! But mommy is still on the "colic" schedule :( Hopefully soon everyone will be balanced out!!

I can never find time :(

Hello all!! 5 months later and I FINALLY update this thing. I am going to be honest and I can never find the time or the patience this blog requires to upload my photos.. But Greyson is down for bed and I dont feel like doing anything else :) So here is what has happened since March... NOTHING!! haha.. Well there has been a few changes. I have finished all my teaching classes and all I am waiting on is for some school district to actually look at my resume and become interested in my talent and desire to teach. If I dont find a contracted 1 year teaching job by October 2011 then everything expires and I will have to start over!! So for the past few months I have been applying to school districts like crazy and praying for a nibble, but NOTHING!! I have applied to all the school districts west of 45 here in Houston with atleast 1 job per district. Not to mention all the applications I put in around Ft. Worth/Dallas area and Austin and around my home town, Brownwood. NOTHING!! Its so discouraging to think out of all the jobs (atleast 75 different jobs) that I applied to, I have not had a single email or call!! Well after talking to a few friends, I decided I should try and take the Generalist 4-8 exam which would allow me to teach most subjects in middle school. A very wide spectrum that I thought would be in demand. I guessed wrong bc that didnt help out any either.

After a few weeks of praying and asking the good Lord what to do and give me guidance, I came to a realization that Teaching probably wasnt for me, all the signs were there.. About 2 weeks ago I had completely given up and was content with the fact that my resume didnt stand out against all the other 15,000 resumes that were getting sent in from ppl who just needed a job and who went through the same program as I did. Well I kid you not the day after I started looking for another road to travel, Ragan called saying her sister, Taylor, wanted to talk to me about a position that opened in Bryan ISD. I immediately started to cry!! Its not a contracted teaching position but it gets me into the classroom, gives me the experience I will need to make my resume stick out and I get to choose my own schedule!! Its a professional tutoring position, I wanna say it is close to a Co-teach, where I will get my own desk!! :) and best of all I can put my 2 weeks in at Roadhouse soon!! I am going to keep praying that this job will lead into a contracted Teacher because Lord knows I want to teach!! I think the last time I prayed this hard about something, so constant, was when I was waiting on my application for Texas A&M!!

So today I sent in all my paper work and hopefully it will get processed quickly because I am SOOOO eager to start this job!! I want to prove to all those districts I am not here just for a paycheck, that I am here looking for a career, here to give futures to students who need support!!

I forgot to explain earlier about the program I went through. Here in Houston soooo many people have been laid off that they are thinking of quick easy ways to make money. Well its not hard to get into the teaching program Region 4 Alternative Certification Program (ACP), especially if you have a good degree. Well a lot of these corporate laid off people are thinking this is quick and easy and I can do it until I find a job back in my field. Well when districts see the ACP on your resume and transcript, and that is what they are thinking, someone who doesnt really want to teach but just looking for a paycheck.
And yes with my degree I could have done two different things. I could have gone and become a doctor OR I could go and teach Health/Science. As you know my last year of college was filled with massive school load, a newborn and taking time off.. After I graduated I didnt know what I wanted to do other than stay home with Greyson, so thats what I did for a year, Stay at Home Mommy.. That was my 24/7 Job.. After I decided I wanted to come back to work, I started to weigh my options. Yes I wanted to go to nursing school but that would have consumed all my time!! Greyson and my Family are my number ones!!
When I was growing up for my 10th birthday my Grandma took me to Wal-Mart and said I could have whatever at a reasonable price.. You know what I bought? A Dry erase board and markers because I liked to play teacher in my bedroom.. I had found a teacher manual for a science class at a garage sale and I used that to make pretend worksheets and tests. While my brothers were playing video games, I was teaching my pretend class.. So see!! Deep down this is my passion!! Im not that Joe-Blow guy looking for a job bc they need money.. I am that dedicated teacher who wants to spread her enthusiasm and creativity to her students, I want to make futures brighter, I want to show every student that it IS possible to go to college and succeed!! No body will ever know how strong I feel about helping another person in need.

Anyways.. I cant post something without pictures so last month Greyson took his 2 yr pictures and some of them came out soooo CUTE!!

It seems like just yesterday I was posting pictures in the Hospital. Man he has definitely grown so much and he is talking. I was surprised just the other day he walked up to me asked for apple juice, took my hand and guided me to the cabinet where his cups were. Then just this morning he woke up, bypassed my room, got the cereal out of the pantry, a bowl out of the dishwasher and proceeded to pour himself a bowl of cereal. The rustling of the cereal bag woke me up and I rescued this hungry man of making a mess in the floor of my kitchen. I poured him a bowl and he got his spoon out of the drawer. SO BIG!! I CANT believe he turns 2 in two weeks !! He already acts like he knows how to use a computer, a cell phone, and the TV. He is a smart booger!! I couldnt ask for anything more or less!! He is my world and I never thought I could love an individual so much, sorry Ladd he has one up on you bc he was part of me for 9 months :) But right now I know I could never be happier especially with my two men beside me!! :)

Colorado and the past week..

So for springbreak/ 1 year anniversary Ladd and I went to Colorado to ski for week!! Putting numbers down on paper we decided to drive instead of flying because it was cheaper!! So we drove up on the 15th thru the night and got there early tuesday morning. So Tuesday after we took a much needed nap, we decided we wanted to hit the slopes for a half day on Keystone. It was more like an entire day because of the dusk skiing last until 6.. So we skiied from noon till 6!!

So due to my last experience on the slopes (*for those who dont know.. Our last trip to Colorado at Breckenridge on our last time down the slope, my toe catches the snow, mind im in blades not skis, and my leg is nearly ripped off.. We had to call ski patrol and I was carried down the mountain to the first aid). So due to this little adventure my first day of skiing this time was a little stressful for me.. I was wigged out about the snowboarders zooming by and the fact there was soooo many skiers coming down the slopes. Not to mention the massive amount of peer pressure from James and Ladd.. :( So by the next day at A-Basin I did a lot better considering there was half the amount of people there!! Probably even less than that!! Overall I did TONS better there than at Keystone!! So Wednesday I was so worried about everyone getting sunscreen and getting out the door before Ladd ripped me a new one, I had forgotten to put sunscreen on myself :( I paid for this.. OH man I received the worse sunburn of my life!! It sucked!! By Friday my face was soooo stiff I had to keep water close by so I could moisten my face to open my mouth to eat!! Man..

I think Thursday was the COLD day.. It was basically the white out day.. It was snowing soooo hard with nasty wind.. It made for a bad day of skiing.. Vision was so limited I was scared to go any where because you couldnt tell the differentiation in the mountain.. Very difficult.. Glad James showed up so I could sit out half the day while he and Ladd could ski it up with out me holding them back.. And besides by this day my face had blistered and started to "ooze" so my gator was freezing to my face.. Not a good feeling.. I think the temp that day was like 7 degrees.. started out -2.. :( Too cold for this Texan!! :)

Ok so after you ski 4 days you can accrue many bruises. Especially on someone who bruises very easily!! OH man was I bruised by the end of the week!! Its mainly from my skis hitting the same spot and falling down to sit in the pact snow!! These pics dont do the bruises justice compared to what they look like now!! Just put it this way.. Its going to be a while before they go away!!Anyways we had a blast!! Ladd got to ski some double blacks with James and I got to read 3 books!! It was a great trip.. So one our drive home we got to see everything on the way home in the day time!! We saw snow all the way past Lubbock!! Not to mention we left the day before the huge blizzard hit.. James got stuck at the airport on the runway for 4 hours while they delayed flights..!! That sucks!! But there was so much cool stuff on the way back!! But the best part was finally making it back to Greyson!! When he woke up Monday morning he was soooo excited to see us and he had to show us all the cool stuff Nana and Papa got him over the week!! And they say they dont spoil him.. HA!! Then we were off to Houston.. where, by the way, the weather is freakin AWESOME!! :) So hopefully when Ladd is off next week we can spend the day at the park and pack a picnic and ride some bikes!! Im excited things are finally back to routine!!

OH!! Greyson is doing soooo much better at daycare!! Yesterday and Today he walked into his classroom (as before I had to peel him off me) and he went and sat down at the tiny tables and crossed his hands and waited for his breakfast. I waved bye and he smiled and waved back!! It was so cute but so sad that my baby boy is finally growing up and becoming independent!! :( At least he is still so excited to see me at the end of the day!! :)

Past few weeks/months haha!!

Ok so in a nutshell Life got busier.. Didnt think that could happen but it did!! I started school again so I can work on getting certified to teach in a different subject since they took Health out of the requirements to graduate. So Im taking a Microbiology class at Lonestar and I LOVE IT!! I think thats what I want to teach, Biology :) Ok since I started substituting on my days I dont have class, Ladd and I decided to start Greyson in Daycare. (and because he was getting way to much of a mommies boy/clingy/antisocial) The first couple of days at daycare were brutal for him and me!! But for the first time today I picked him up and he didnt cry when he saw me (because he was happy to see me not because he wanted to stay). He kept playing!! I was so proud of my little man and how well adapted he has gotten. The teacher said she can tell when they are getting used to everything because they take longer naps!! He slept 2 1/2 hours today!! yay!! He is growing up!! I miss him to death during the day but I absolutely love the art work he brings home.. I am going to make a art wall for him!! :) Make it a "About Greyson" wall.. :)

Other things that have happened. Well the first weekend in February (my birthday) was my Sister-in-laws baby shower. Well Greyson caught a stomach virus that weekend too!! We figured it was just something he picked up and wouldnt be too bad. Well after eating mexican food ladd comes home and get super sick.. Like BAAAAD!! Then saturday during the baby shower while I am writing down the gifts, I get broad sided with the STOMACH VIRUS!! this wasnt a small get together.. Like I had to push my way through a crowed living room of about 50 people (my parents living room is a very large living room) It was aweful!! Then the virus slowly began its way through my family. A couple of days later we found out anyone and everyone at the babyshower had got it!! It was to the point where you didnt eat for days!! I lost 10 lbs!! haha :)

So baby shower was the first weekend in February and on February 25th Baby Kourtni Lillian Haehn was born!! She is GORGEOUS!! Chubby little cheeks and jet black hair!!

Sorry about the picture quality.. They were takin with my Blackberry.

Since the weather has been nice Greyson has been playing outside a lot and his newest facination is bubbles!! He loves them!! OH!! He also is starting to potty train. We arent pushing it hard core yet bc we want him to get used to day care first but I am really going to get after it after spring break, first of April. He is sooo stinkin cute!! He knows what it is and he goes to the bathroom when I say potty.. he also pats his diaper/crotch when i say "Need to potty?" He thinks its exciting!! Which is good!!

Again with my Blackberry.

Ok so whats on the agenda for the next couple of weeks. Well for springbreak/1 year anniversary we are going skiing in Colorado. Hopefully I can get one romantic candle lit dinner over looking the slopes out of it :) We shall see... But other than that back to substituting, school, and Greyson :) LOVE IT!! :) Cant wait till im a REAL teacher!! :) Subbing has really pumped me about teaching and cant wait to have my own classroom to decorate and my own kids to teach!!

Christmas TIME!!

Well yesterday Taylor and Bethany drove in from Colorado and stayed with us until James got off work. When both of the working men got home (Ladd and James) we decided to take family Christmas pictures in front of the tree! We got a lot of good shots but Greyson was either not smiling or looking somewhere else!!

OH!! And another thing... For the past few weeks I have been working with Greyson trying to teach him how to clap. Well Bethany was in the back seat with him for like 5 min and she was able to get him to clap!! Now he is clapping at EVERYTHING!! Haha.. Here are some pictures!!

Thanks again James and Bethany!! They turned out GREAT!! and hopefully I can get my cards in the mail soon!! :)
So this year Ladd and I are going the thoughtful homemade christmas route!! So now I gotta get back to making christmas for everyone.. I only have 5 more days so I gotta get a move on!! Thanks goodness I have my mother the next few days to help out!! :) Yay!!

OOPS forgot about this.. :(

Ok so I have once again forgot about this blog :( It is so much easier to keep up with facebook. Well here is what has beening on. Ladd and I got married April 4th and we spent out honeymoon on a cruise visiting Cozumel, Jamaica, and Grand Caymen. We had tons of fun but figured a 7 day cruise on a ship full of energetic kids and teenagers wasnt for us and the next time we should find one with more stops and more to do than just the Casino. Since then it has been nothing but work and taking care of Greyson. Ladd got a promotion at work so he is training to do that right now and hopefully things will start to look up for us. I have decided to study and get my teaching certificate and hopefully start teaching soon. The beginning of November we found a great rent house for a little more a month than our apartment and twice the size!! In order to move in ASAP we had to pay the deposit and December's rent upfront and we could have the entire month of November for free!! So we moved in the next week!! WE HAVE SPACE NOW!!

Ladd and I thought a newborn was exhausting but quickly found out that a toddler is insanely harder than a motionless burp/poop machine. So we are constantly following him to make sure he doesnt throw things away (his new thing), pull orniments off the tree, destroy the presents under the tree, or pull food out of the pantry. We have to keep the bathrooms and office doors closed because he is so curious about the computer and toilets..

To fill in my past times I have started to do crafts/quilts. Ragan has already started her business with her bracelets and I have decided to start with my products. So far its just quilts, wipie boxes, stuffed quilted dogs, pillows and hopefully soon Ill come up with more ideas like diaper bags, Nursing covers and other stuff like matching quilts, bumper pads, and decorative pillows.

In the end I hope to keep this updated more. If you really want a super updated profile you should check out my Facebook page.. I try to get on atleast once a day.

Greyson's First boo-boo

Ok so Ladd's Mom and I needed to go to Hobby Lobby to grab a few last minute things for the wedding. Well Greyson had been fussy so I had taken him out of his carseat and put him on his tummy over the back of his seat where he is facing forward. He was super happy.. Well I had my arm/elbows in his seat to make sure he wouldnt topple over. When we got up to the cash register things got hectic, G was grabbing for things and we had so much stuff in the cart. Well I had lifted my arm/elbow for a short second and down went G. I didnt see it happen but Ladd's Mom caught G by the ankle and he stopped short of hitting bottom but he still managed to scratch his head pretty good. While all this was happening, Connie's tea she had just bought went all over the floor making a huge sticky mess!! But it didnt take him long before he started screaming bloody murder and a bunch of older ladies come running!! It was so embarrassing making me feel like a bad mother.. :( Anyways I got some pictures of Greyson's first boo-boo.
You really cant tell but at the time of the incident it was a huge bump, real red and slightly purple. This picture was taken the same day. Just a small scratch. It still made me feel so bad!!

Rolling over isnt such a task anymore..

Greyson started to roll over. The first time he rolled over was February 12th. It was so cool because for the longest time He would just kinda half roll over and his arm would get in the way. But this time He managed to get it out of the way (without my help) and roll over all the way!! It was great!! Here are some 5 month pictures. We didnt take alot because we were so busy with Wedding and planning last minute stuff. Oh and I got a job at Texas Roadhouse (boooooooo) so this added to the chaos.. Here Greyson and cousin Cayden are playing in Granny C's saucer.
Cayden always gets so jealous, so when I sat down to read Greyson a book, she came and sat in my lap too..
In the process of rolling over :)
Such a good picture I think..
The day we went and checked out Daycares. :) He had to look cute!!
Poppin' his collar..
Loves his baths!!

Helping daddy.. :)
Ladd does this.. Not me I try and keep it out of his face..
So happy and ready for bed!!
Nice booger G!! haha :) Well that is all the 5 month pictures. :( I know its sad but Im in the process of posting 6 month pics!!

Wow I forget sometimes.. :(

Ok so sorry guys. I have TOTALLY forgotten about this blog. Its just so much easier to Facebook. With the wedding and just getting settled its be a task to even find time for me. In the next few days while G is sleeping/napping I will try and update as much as possible, starting where I had left off. :) Sorry again..
